  • The World Under Your Feet Workshop Application

Within the 17 million acres of the Chesapeake Bay watershed, the largest “crop” grown is grass: Millions of acres of lawns. Besides beautifying home landscapes, turf is essential for sports stadiums and fields, parks, golf courses and more, yet it’s not widely understood for its role environmentally, socially and economically. Explore “The World Under Your Feet” with the University of Maryland Turf Farm and USDA Agricultural Research Service staff August 8-10, 2022 and learn how to connect your students with scientific and environmental concepts as well as career opportunities based on the world of turf management. Participants will be eligible to receive an $800 stipend that can supplement travel costs including mileage, hotel, and meals as well as any registration and credit fees.
  • This workshop is limited to 25 participants.

You will receive an email from the Maryland Agricultural Education Foundation after your submission is received that will confirm you have been accepted as one of the 25, or if you have been placed on a waitlist. Spots are offered on a first come first serve basis.
